A Golf driver from the Innviertel region had had enough. He was fed up with the fact that his car was equipped with a cheating engine that had previously been considered "clean". With the help of a lawyer in Linz, the car owner braced himself for a long court case, but then VW made a surprising full stop.

"My client has allowed the judgment to become final and will comply with the judgment. I would therefore kindly ask you to arrange for your client to return the vehicle to Porsche by 21.02.2024 at the latest" - these two sentences are a sensation in the never-ending story of the diesel emissions scandal.
