Speeding driver loses license
Briton stopped at 107 km/h in the 50 km/h zone
Even experienced traffic police officers have not often seen this: on Monday, a 27-year-old Brit was speeding along the Tuxer Landesstraße in Finkenberg in the style of James Hunt. Now he has to take a cab.
Officers from Mayrhofen police station carried out speed measurements in the Zillertal at around 11.10 am. They caught sight of an exceptional speeding driver.
More than twice as fast as permitted
On the Tuxer Landesstraße in Finkenberg, where the speed limit is 50 km/h, a car was traveling at a speed far in excess of the speed limit. The officers measured a whopping 107 km/h and immediately took the car and driver out of circulation. As it turned out, the driver who was stopped was a 27-year-old British man.
The consequences for the speeding driver: he will have to take a cab or walk in the near future, as the police confiscated his driver's license on the spot. He was also reported to the Schwaz district authority.
