Pub owners fight for 100-year-old tradition

The oven is out at the "Prosciutto" pizzeria in Grieskirchen. After almost 25 years, the restaurant couple Hedwig and Roman Rauch quit shortly before the lease expired. But the people of Grieskirchen don't have to do without original Italian pizza. Two Italians have opened a new restaurant on Roßmarkt.

The building at Bahnhofstraße 7 has a long, long history in Grieskirchen. As a restaurant, it has been an important meeting place in the town for over 100 years. Many years ago, the Austrian army still held its military exercises in the building. Once a week, the piglet market was held in front of the building.
