Anyone who goes on vacation to other countries and then posts photos of it on social media can expect to have their social welfare benefits cut by the authorities. However, a 50-year-old from Linz is not prepared to accept this. The "Krone" asked what is and is not allowed for social welfare recipients.

Vacations are not allowed for social welfare recipients in Upper Austria. A 50-year-old woman from Linz refuses to accept this - because of her trips abroad, the municipal authorities have cut her and her son's (16) allowance in half. A letter to the mayor was also unsuccessful. The authorities calculated that she had received more than 34,000 euros in social welfare since 2015.
