Styrian town “applies” for central hospital

As mayor of Fürstenfeld, Franz Jost has 14 seats to defend for the ÖVP. He always has great visions for his home town, but not everyone always likes them. Now he is causing a stir with his proposal to bring a central hospital to the region.

Fürstenfeld has what most local authorities can only dream of today: a stable financial cushion. The reason for this is not only the increase in revenue shares due to the recent merger with Söchau: "When I took over the municipality's agenda six years ago, our municipal tax income was around three million euros. Now we will soon exceed the five million euro mark," says ÖVP mayor Franz Jost, not without pride.
