Instead of money for a handbag, woman got a rip-off shock

A young Tyrolean woman actually wanted to sell her handbag on an online platform. But she fell into the trap of a brazen fraudster. In the end, several hundred euros were debited from her account.

The 23-year-old from the district of Innsbruck-Land had offered her handbag for sale on a web platform. In the past few days, an interested party finally contacted the young woman - he tricked her into believing that he really wanted to buy the bag.

"The supposed prospective buyer then sent the victim a link via a messenger service that took her to a website where her bank card details were requested," the police investigators explain.

Several hundred euros were then debited from the woman's account. The money is gone. There is no trace of the perpetrator. Investigations are ongoing.
