Forestry worker (70) seriously injured in accident

Devastating accident in Ainet in East Tyrol on Friday! After forestry work, a worker (70) wanted to descend a slope. He slipped and crashed into a tree stump. A rescue helicopter had to be called out.

The accident happened at around 10.45 am. Three locals were carrying out forestry work in a wooded area in the municipality of Ainet. "After the pruning work, a 70-year-old wanted to descend the slope," said the police. 

To hospital by helicopter
The senior citizen slipped on a root and hit his buttocks against a tree stump. The 70-year-old suffered serious injuries as a result. A rescue helicopter flew the man to the district hospital in Lienz.
