Drake donates $10,000 for doppelganger competition

The "Drake lookalike competition" at a bakery in Toronto was supposed to be just a few cupcakes for the winner(s). Until the singer, who grew up in the Canadian metropolis, got in touch personally and offered 10,000 dollars in prize money. 

To be more precise, the 38-year-old commented under the Instagram call from "Casuals Cakery" that he wanted to donate "ten bills on top of the main prize".

That translates to 10,000 dollars in prize money - which triggered a veritable onslaught of would-be drakes.

A woman also took part
For Makayla Chambers, it was probably "God's plan" to be the only woman at the event. She had divided her hair into two braids, which she wore just like the music superstar in an Instagram photo from the spring.

In addition, "Girl Drake" had glued on a fake beard and was wearing black trousers and an oversized beige sweater.

Influencer Anthony Po shared videos of the competition on his Instagram account. These included how Chambers prevailed against competitors such as "Ozempic Drake" and "Jeans Drake" and collected the 10,000 dollars.

The five-time Grammy winner - and real-life Drake - enthusiastically shared several of the videos featuring his doppelgangers on his own account, writing along with several laugh emojis: "I love this city!"
