Cowboys, Packers and Lions cheer on Thanksgiving

After exactly 334 days, the Dallas Cowboys have won another home game in the NFL. The team from Texas beat the New York Giants 27:20 on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys had previously lost their first five home games in the US Football League this season. 

With five wins and seven defeats, the Cowboys are still only in third place in the NFC East. The Giants are certain to miss the play-offs with just two wins.

Lions wait for Packers
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers recorded their third win in a row with a 30-17 home victory over the Miami Dolphins. Although the Packers remain third in the NFC North with a record of nine wins and three defeats, the first-placed Detroit Lions only have two more wins to their name. The Packers and Lions will meet next Thursday (local time).

Detroit had previously won 23:20 against the Chicago Bears despite a weak final phase and thus celebrated its tenth win in a row. The Lions benefited from a chaotic final minute on the part of the Bears, who missed the opportunity for a field goal at the end to equalize.
