Hoffmann as lottery fairy

No horror group at the Salzburger Stier

The draw for the 42nd Salzburger Stier took place on Thursday evening at the Stiegl Brewery. Former Union Berlin co-trainer Markus Hoffmann acted as the lottery godfather. There is no such thing as a horror group, but hosts Leopoldskron could have had an easier time of it.

Leopoldskron will face defending champions Golling right at the start of the tournament on January 2. Also in Group A are Puch and Croatia Salzburg. Group E is the toughest on paper - Seekirchen, Hallwang, Köstendorf and Freilassing meet here. 

"Mr. Taurus" Thomas Selner was very pleased with the draw and Markus Hoffmann, the draw fairy. "There are some really exciting groups." The tournament will be played from January 2 to 6 at the Sporthalle Alpenstraße.

Men's Taurus: 
Group A: Golling, Leopoldskron, Puch, Croatia Salzburg.
Group B: Grünau, Lamprechtshausen, Elsbethen, Oberndorf. 
Group C: St. Johann, Faistenau, Oberalm, Straßwalchen.
Group D: Hallein, Bergheim, Adnet, Pfarrwerfen.
Group E: Seekirchen, Hallwang, Köstendorf, Freilassing.
Group F: Grödig, Berndorf, ASV Salzburg, Gneis/ASK/PSV.
Group G: Bürmoos, Anthering, Lieferinger SV, Anif.
Group H: Eugendorf, Henndorf, Mattsee, Obertrum.
Group I: Siezenheim, HSV Wals, SAK; Perwang/Michaelbeuern.

Ladies Taurus: 
Group A: Geretsberg/Bürmoos, ASV Salzburg, Leogang, SG Tennengau.
