Domaine Pöttelsdorf becomes Schandl’s winery

A brilliant new start in the Blaufränkisch community of Pöttelsdorf: Thomas and Peter Schandl are taking over the winery and focusing on rosé. However, the well-known red wines will continue to be produced.

The brothers Thomas and Peter Schandl and their families want to make Domaine Pöttelsdorf fit for supra-regional competition: they are taking over the winery as majority owners. This will become Schandl's Weingut and position itself as the "House of Rosé" in future.

Wines are still available
However, red wine connoisseurs need not worry about the change: The multi-award-winning, famous Pöttelsdorfer Blaufränkisch wines will continue to be available under the "Domaine Pöttelsdorf" brand. However, the brothers want to focus on further developing their rosé expertise.

"Continuing the tradition"
"We will continue the decades-long tradition of great Blaufränkisch wines in Pöttelsdorf and be successful on the wine market with unmistakable rosés," says Thomas Schandl. Most recently, the winery was even named "Best Rosé Producer Austria 2024" at the Meiningers International Rosé Award.

This year's vintage will also bring new product lines: From rosé wines to rosé sparkling wine and rosé secco. The new Rosé Brut sparkling wine will be presented on November 21 in Pöttelsdorf.
