Weitwörth gets second Lokalbahn Express line

When the timetable was changed in September, the stop for the Lokalbahn-Express (LEX) in Weitwörth-Nussdorf was removed. Following protests, two express local trains will soon be stopping in the morning. 

The protests were huge. With the timetable change in September, local train commuters who wanted to board the train in Weitwörth-Nussdorf in the morning lost several express connections. The transport association canceled the stop for the LEX trains at the popular station. Instead of every quarter of an hour, trains now only ran every half hour to work or school.

The waves of protest ran high. While the Salzburg Transport Association (SVV) initially refused to give in, after weeks there was a first express train stop (6.39 a.m.). Last Monday, affected commuters met with the SVV again.

 The result: from December 15, another express train will be added to the early morning service at 7.09 am. Bus route 111 will be adapted to the connection.
