Local innkeepers charge between 24 and 40 euros for a traditional Martinigansl, which will be served in the coming weeks. This may seem expensive, but the high purchase prices and costs mean that landlords are hardly making any profit. We asked around some of the landlords in Upper Austria.

Fall is goose season. The tradition of St. Martin's goose is still widespread and, for many, is as much a part of 11 November as colorful leaves are of autumn. Numerous innkeepers throughout the country - we also checked the current prices for Vienna - offer the specialty, some only on St. Martin's Day, others for several weeks.
