14-year-old Skerbinz qualifies for home European Championships

Nine Austrian representatives will tackle the main singles competitions at the European Table Tennis Championships in Linz on Thursday - including 14-year-old Nina Skerbinz from Vienna.

On Wednesday, Liu Yuan, Anastasia Sterner and Nina Skerbinz made it through qualifying in the women's singles, joined by the seeded Sofia Polcanova. In the men's competition, Andreas Levenko, Robert Gardos, Julian Rzihauschek and Maciej Kolodziejczyk booked their tickets for the main competition, which Daniel Habesohn had already secured.

The mixed doubles team of Polcanova/Gardos has already reached the round of 16 after beating the Czechs Veronika Polacova/Ondrej Kveton 3:2.
