Family invites Harley riders to funeral

A tragic accident dampened the mood of the thousands of Harley-Davidson fans at the 26th Bike Week in Faak am See: a couple from Burgenland were killed in a head-on crash. His grandniece is now asking on Facebook for a few bikes to come to the funeral.

It was not just a shock for all Harley fans, but for the whole of Austria, when a married couple, both 63 years old, died in a head-on crash during Bike Week. The tragedy occurred last Friday on a country road near Rosegg (Carinthia). 

"For reasons as yet unknown, a motorcyclist and his passenger entered the left-hand lane on a right-hand bend and crashed head-on into an oncoming car," reported the police. Despite first aid measures, all help came too late.

As the great-niece of the deceased wrote on Facebook, they were only supposed to meet shortly afterwards in Velden, but then fate struck. Now she is asking Harley fans on Facebook to pay their last respects to her great-uncle and his wife.

The funeral will take place on Friday, September 13, at 3 pm in Grafenschach, in the district of Oberwart.
