Thieves broke open ticket machines on the platform

Unknown perpetrators helped themselves to several ticket machines in Dornbirn on Monday night. The amount of damage caused is not known, the perpetrators are on the run.  

The police are currently looking for eyewitnesses who can help solve several burglaries: The crimes occurred in the night from Sunday to Monday. Unknown persons were after the money in the ÖBB ticket machines on the platforms at Dornbirn Hatlerdorf and Haselstauden stations.

According to police reports, the vandals approached the machines with a tool and tried to break them open using brute force. The banknote acceptance areas were of particular interest to the thieves. Two out of three attempts to open the banknote collectors were successful. However, it is not known how much cash was inside.

All three machines suffered considerable material damage. The thieves were able to flee before the police arrived. Witnesses who can provide information about the incidents are asked to contact the Dornbirn police station.
