Gold! Ingebrigtsen strikes back over 5,000 m

Jakob Ingebrigtsen struck back at the Olympic Games in Paris on Saturday. Four days after a disappointing "tin" in his showpiece discipline, the 1,500 m, Norway's athletics star won the gold medal in the 5,000 m for the first time.

In the final evening session in the once again sold-out Stade de France, France's first athletics medal was also finally celebrated. Cyréna Samba-Mayela took silver in the 100 m hurdles.

Ingebrigtsen pulled away from her pursuers on the final lap to win in 13:13.66 minutes. This was the Norwegian's second Olympic gold. The Kenyan Ronald Kwemoi and Grant Fisher from the USA completed the podium.
