Schwärzler fails against Frenchman in Liberec

After Joel Schwärzler made his debut on the ATP Tour last week at the clay court classic in Kitzbühel, the player from Vorarlberg was in action at the ATP Challenger in Liberec (Tch) on Monday. However, his performance in the singles was not crowned with the success he had hoped for.

Against Frenchman Manuel Guinard (ATP no. 288), the 18-year-old managed a break to 2:0 right at the start of the match, but Guinard immediately managed a re-break, took the service from Schwärzler to make it 4:3 and took the first set 6:4.

The young Harder also made a break in the second set, but Guinard made two and so the 28-year-old left the court after 71 minutes as the 6:4, 6:4 winner.
