Mother and daughter caused a sensation in Montafon

The M³ Montafon Mountain Bike Marathon over the extreme distance ended with a victory for the local hero. Daniel Geismayr from Dornbirn was in a class of his own and had a huge lead after 75 kilometers. A mother-daughter team caused a sensation in the women's race.

Great joy for Daniel Geismayr! The 34-year-old from Dornbirn secured victory on the extreme course at the M3 Marathon in Montafon.

The Upper Austrian by choice, who was crowned state marathon champion in Schruns in 2023, completed the 75-kilometre course with 3,100 meters of elevation gain in 3:08.09 hours, beating Urs Fischer (Sz) into second place by over four minutes.

Upper Austrian Sabine Sommer took victory in the women's race, with her daughter Clara finishing third behind Czech rider Milena Kalasova.
