Eleven-year-old died after falling from a balcony in Mallorca

On Monday, an eleven-year-old tourist fell from a balcony in Mallorca and died. She fell about 20 meters from the seventh floor of a hotel, regional newspapers reported.

The fatal accident occurred at around 6.30 a.m. in Alcúdia in the north of the Spanish Mediterranean island. The Mallorcan emergency services reported that the girl's parents were still asleep at the time. According to the initial findings, everything points to an accident.

Parents receive psychological support
Although the emergency services arrived quickly, their resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The parents, who had originally planned to return to Ireland on Monday, are receiving psychological support. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the accident are still ongoing.
