Paszek’s run of success comes to an abrupt halt in the semi-finals

The 33-year-old Tamira Paszek from Dornbirn had stormed into the semi-finals of the ITF W60 hard court tournament in Nottingham (England) without losing a set. There, however, the 544th-ranked player in the world found her champion in 23-year-old Manon Leonard (Fra). 

Paszek had to concede her very first service game against the number 249 in the WTA rankings. After another break, she at least managed to stave off the maximum penalty by making it 1:4 - but in the end she still lost the set 1:6.

Paszek fell behind 0:3 again in the second set. Although she subsequently managed to re-break to 2:3, nothing more was possible. After just 80 minutes, Leonard left the court as the 6:1, 6:3 winner.
