Overtime and vacations have been rigorously reduced, but demand is not picking up! Because agricultural machinery specialist Pöttinger has to cope with declining sales, the Upper Austrian company temporarily registers 200 employees with the AMS in July and August. With a promise of re-employment! But what does it mean to be "temporarily unemployed"?

In July and August, 200 employees from production and production-related areas are registered with the Public Employment Service for an average of three to four weeks with a re-employment guarantee, while 450 employees each take a week's unpaid leave - this is how agricultural machinery specialist Pöttinger, based in Grieskirchen (Upper Austria), reacts to declining sales.
