Crashed into van

E-biker (85) died in collision in Obertrum

Accident drama Saturday morning in Obertrum (Salzburg): An 85-year-old e-biker died in a collision with a van. The emergency doctor was only able to determine his death. 

The man was traveling on the Mattseer Landesstraße in the direction of Upper Austria when the tragedy occurred. As the 85-year-old crossed the road towards Obertrumer Landesstraße and turned left, he collided with a van driving straight ahead.

Resuscitation unsuccessful
Despite immediate resuscitation by the Red Cross, there was no help for the accident victim. The e-biker died at the scene of the accident. The 21-year-old driver of the van and his seven passengers were uninjured. 

The Mattseer Landesstraße was completely closed until midday. An expert was called in to clarify the exact course of events. Just recently, a 62-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a tree in Obertrum and died.
