ÖVP remains strongest force in Ländle

Although the black party lost a whopping 8.8 percentage points compared to the 2019 EU elections, 26.8% of votes were still enough for first place. The FPÖ made the biggest gains by far. 

The Freedom Party is also the big winner in Vorarlberg: with 23%, they made massive gains compared to 2019 (14.8%), although the election five years ago was influenced by the Ibiza affair.

In third place in the state with 15.3% - at least for the time being - are the NEOS with a wafer-thin lead of just 82 votes over the Greens, who also achieved 15.3%. Both parties therefore lost votes compared to the last European elections - the Pinks achieved 17.1 percentage points and the Greens 17.3 percentage points.

For the Vorarlberg Social Democrats (14.4 percent) it was only enough for fifth place - at least the Reds can take comfort in the fact that they made gains compared to the last election (13.4 percent). 

Voter turnout was 47.8% (2019: 44.3%).
