Perpetrator now caught

Pensioner (75) pushed and then robbed

After a 75-year-old woman had left a bank in Linz, the perpetrator struck: He pushed the pensioner and then ripped her handbag off her shoulder. The robber has now been identified by the police.

The robbery happened on February 6 in Wiener Straße in Linz. A 75-year-old woman was robbed in the street after she had been in a bank: an unknown man pushed the pensioner, ripped her handbag off her shoulder and fled.

The handbag was then found in an apartment building. But: the cash was missing.

31-year-old confesses
Several months later, the municipal police command was able to identify a 31-year-old from the Steyr-Land district as the perpetrator. He was arrested on Sunday on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Linz public prosecutor's office.

The man confessed during his interrogation. He was transferred to Linz prison.
