Three human skeletons found during construction work

A macabre discovery for construction workers in Köttmannsdorf, Carinthia: during sewer work, they suddenly came across human bones. But instead of the police, it's the turn of the heritage office.

Construction and sewer work is currently underway in Köttmannsdorf. When the workers were digging for the canal at the former Ille inn, bones suddenly appeared. Gradually, three human skeletons were uncovered, which had probably been there for some time. Later, three more skeletons were found.

Now the Monuments Office is to clarify how old they are - it is assumed that there are more human remains, and there is talk of an entire burial ground.

The discovery naturally led to the construction work being halted. "But that doesn't worry us as a municipality, we have planned enough lead time," explains Josef Liendl, the mayor of Köttmannsdorf. Now everyone is eagerly awaiting the experts' final report.
