Duo robbed pensioner: perpetrators were caught

Last Tuesday, a pensioner from Flachgau withdrew almost 10,000 euros from a bank in the city of Salzburg. She stashed the money in her handbag - which two criminals had observed. The perpetrators have now been caught.

The 78-year-old woman got on a bus not far from the bank and rode along for one stop. She left the trolleybus and made her way to a grocery store. Suddenly, two strangers pulled the woman to the ground and robbed her of her handbag and the money she had just withdrawn. The woman was injured and the perpetrators were able to flee. 

However, they did not remain at large for long: following a manhunt and numerous tips from the public, the two men have now been tracked down. They are two Romanians (35 and 44 years old). They were arrested in the city of Salzburg.

Money and cell phone seized
During a search of their home, a four-figure sum of cash and the 78-year-old victim's cell phone were seized.

During their interrogation, the two suspects confessed.
