Tumor “balanced”: Investigation against doctor

The accusation against a well-known and experienced medical specialist who allegedly "scanned" a terminally ill girl and found her to be healthy is causing a stir in Carinthia. The child died shortly afterwards from an aggressive tumor. The public prosecutor's office is now investigating on suspicion of grossly negligent homicide.

The criminal proceedings surrounding the death of a child from cancer are having repercussions. As reported, the parents were sentenced to one year conditionally (not legally binding) at Klagenfurt Regional Court because they did not have their 14-year-old daughter treated adequately despite a tumor that was already visible to the naked eye.
