Car crashed into tree, passers-by resuscitated man

Sad news came from the hospital in Innsbruck on Thursday. The local man who crashed his car into a tree in Telfs (Innsbruck-Land district) on Wednesday and was successfully resuscitated on site died in hospital the same day.

According to the police, the reason for the 59-year-old's accident is still unknown. The man was driving east on the B171 shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday when he apparently lost control of his car at a junction. He drove through a red light and cut off another car, forcing it to brake sharply. The 59-year-old's car then crashed head-on into a tree. 

For reasons as yet unknown, the 59-year-old lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into a tree.

Immediate resuscitation successful
Several witnesses to the accident rushed to the man's aid, set the rescue chain in motion and rescued the injured man from the car. According to the police, they resuscitated the driver until the ambulance arrived. The man was taken to the shock room at Innsbruck Hospital. The 59-year-old died there on Wednesday.
