Still in quarantine

34 puppies were discovered during a border check

The puppies are still in quarantine and are being lovingly cared for. The 34 small dogs were supposed to be smuggled from Italy to Carinthia, but were discovered by customs at the border on April 24.

The dogs were not vaccinated and two of them had neither a chip nor a vaccination certificate. More than half of the puppies were less than eight weeks old, meaning they had been separated from their mothers too early.

The little creatures of various breeds were in a poor state of health. They are now receiving medical treatment, are still in quarantine and therefore cannot be viewed and chosen for homes yet.

As soon as they are released for placement, the Carinthian Animal Welfare Association Villach will make this public.
