Who will be the new Bayern coach? Austria's former team boss Hans Krankl knows what virtues Tuchel's successor should have ...

"Bayern still have a great team, but they also need a great coach," said Hans Krankl in the ServusTV program "Talk im Hangar-7" on Monday evening. But who will that be after the rejections of national coach Julian Nagelsmann, Leverkusen's master coach Xabi Alonso, ÖFB team boss Ralf Rangnick, Aston Villa coach Unai Emery and Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi and, most recently, Julen Lopetegui?

Krankl: "It has to be someone with a big name. Firstly, so that the players parry and secondly, so that Uli Hoeneß parries a little." Like Jose Mourinho or Zinedine Zidane, for example.

Will Flick return?
Krankl sees triple coach Hansi Flick as the most pleasant alternative. "He can deal with Hoeneß and Hoeneß can deal with him," says Austria's former team boss. "And he'll have something to say. He did a pretty good job back then." Ralf Rangnick would therefore not have stayed at Bayern for long with his style, according to Krankl.
