Millions of bees die in agony in fire

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a bee hut in Lower Austria went up in flames. Two to three million bees died as a result.

Three fire departments in the Scheibbs district were called to a devastating fire in Zarnsdorf in the early hours of the morning. A bee hut had caught fire.

Bees do not fly at night
Despite the immediate efforts of the fire department to extinguish the fire, all help came too late for the two to three million bees. Due to the fact that bees do not fly at night, they had no chance of escaping the fire.

The exact cause of the fire is still unclear. The local police have started an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
