Injured! Bayern threaten Laimer’s absence against Real
First a goalscorer, then out with an injury: The Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt ended painfully for Bayern's Konrad Laimer - he had to be substituted with an injury. This means that Bayern are now facing another injury ahead of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Laimer received treatment on his right foot in the 28th minute and then went into the dressing room for further treatment. Aleksandar Pavlovic was substituted for the midfielder, who had set up Harry Kane's 1-0 with a solo run.
It remains to be seen whether the Austrian will be fit for Tuesday's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. According to coach Thomas Tuchel, Laimer suffered a capsule injury. "We have to make sure we're fit for Tuesday," said the coach, referring to Laimer and Jamal Musiala and Matthijs de Ligt, who are also injured.
Personnel worries
Munich already had to do without Jamal Musiala for the Frankfurt game. The attacking player was missing for the second time in a row. "It's a tendon irritation that's simply extremely hampering him," said Tuchel. "Now we'll give everything for Tuesday." Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane are also expected to feature against the Whites. For Sane, it will be a race against time after pubic bone problems. According to Tuchel, Gnabry will be fit in time for Real after a muscle injury.
