How SPÖ leader Babler is tackling his “Mission Chancellor”

The SPÖ whipped itself into shape for the National Council elections at the unofficial election campaign kick-off in Lower Austria. The party and party leader Andreas Babler, who was chosen as the top candidate with 89.6 percent of the vote, are laying claim to the chancellorship. 24 red ideas for Austria should lead to success. A video spot, short messages and then the grand entrance. Shortly after 11 a.m., SPÖ leader Andreas Babler stood in the spotlight for the first time at the federal party council in his home state of Lower Austria. His entrance was accompanied by the song "Can't Stop" by the world-famous band Red Hot Chili Peppers. None other than Wladimir Klitschko used the song as a warm-up anthem before his biggest boxing matches. Fitting, then, for the unofficial start of the red election campaign - and Babler's most important political exchange of blows to date.
