For Sparta! These “warriors” also tear down the cage
Everyone stands ready, waiting for the command from Magomed Ozniev. Saturday, 6 pm, the time has come! Then the event boss will have his Spartans "tear down" the cage again with crazy MMA action at Sparta 4 in the Multiversum Schwechat. Krone+ subscribers(see our offers here) can follow the action live and exclusively on krone.at! It's not just the main fights that will be cracking. In addition to a "founding father", women will also be fighting in the successful series for the first time ...
There's no question that the main fight between martial arts veterans Attila Ucar and Ico Cuk is guaranteed to be a highly anticipated spectacle.
All nines guarantee excitement
Sparta 4 offers sooo much more on Saturday! A total of ten duels (see below) await PLUS subscribers, who were able to see the qualities of matchmaker Renato Eni Kepi for themselves a few weeks ago at the "Sparta Royale" hay fights.
While the "Straw Show" recently featured pure boxing rules, it is now back to the tough cage clinch with punches, kicks and chokeholds. Which pleases Muslim Danaev and Narges Mohseni. Both are passionate martial artists, both are now anchored in the MMA scene, both share a refugee past (of their parents), and both will receive special attention in the Octagon at Sparta 4:
Muslim Danaev (26) came to Austria from Chechnya in 2003 and was housed in the Traiskirchen refugee camp. He and his family then moved to Linz, Salzburg and finally Vienna. He took a liking to martial arts and trainers discovered his talent, even for tough cage fights.
In recent years, Danaev built up the Sparta brand with Magomed Ozniev. He himself - actually a trained office administrator - is now the best testimonial as a cage professional. "Especially if something concrete comes about with the UFC," Danaev remains vague about his dream of joining the elite MMA league. "Nothing is fixed, you can't shout anything out."
Instead of words, the Viennese wants to let deeds speak for themselves, this time against the Brazilian Allef Jordelly (5 wins/1 loss), his seventh win in his seventh professional fight. "He's more of a boxer, I want to knock him out standing," trumpeted the welterweight. He is pleased that the Sparta community is gradually expanding. Including the appearance of the following fighter ...
Narges Mohseni (33) was born in Vienna, but her parents had fled Iran. Eight years of military service were enough for her father, who wanted to protect the family. Like Danaev, they ended up in Traiskirchen and later moved into an apartment in Mödling. A judo coach in his home country, dad Mohseni got little Narges interested in martial arts at an early age. "I started at the age of seven." The passion for it has remained ...
The birth of her daughter in 2020 forced Narges to take a break, but her hunger for fighting returned. Jiu-jitsu training ("To get fit again") developed into an entry into MMA. Also thanks to Sparta "matchmaker" Renato: "He wanted to manage a woman and saw a lot of potential in me," says the full-time police officer, who won bronze in judo at the 2019 European Police Championships.
Mohseni now faces Italian Emanuela Scioli in the first Sparta women's fight. While the local hero has an even 1:1 win record in the amateurs, her opponent has already lost four times in five amateur fights. Feasible, although Narges pays little attention to the names and records of her opponents: "When I do, I look at their technique," emphasizes the "warrior" with the fight name "Xerxes", who thinks nothing of demonizing opponents in any way. "I don't see any enemies, because they do the same thing as me and pursue their dreams. And whether I like someone or not is irrelevant at the end of the day anyway."
Substitute for the Vienna derby
One of the highlights of the evening would be the Vienna derby between Austrian Rafael Tupy and Rapid's Patrick Rainer. Although the Green-White had to cancel due to injury, an opponent is ready for Tupy: Mihajlo Rajic! The 26-year-old Serbian is only 170 cm tall and last fought in December last year. His record so far is manageable: three wins and 17 defeats.
