One more time: lightning blue sea, beautiful sandy beach, picturesque idyllic landscape, wholesome food - a few days after his first vacation post, Austria's ski jumping hero goes one better and sends greetings from the Seychelles together with his wife Marisa. This is what a dream vacation looks like.

While Kraft is on vacation, he has become a passive actor in various ski jumping headlines through no fault of his own: Ryoyu Kobayashi, who finished second behind Kraft in the overall ski jumping World Cup last winter, tested the limits of ski flying in Iceland. On Wednesday, the Japanese skier flew 291 meters into the outrun on a provisional ski jump set up on a mountain. This can be seen in a video on Kobayashi's Instagram account. The distance set is 37.5 meters above Kraft's world record.

The vacationing "Kraftl" will presumably also watch the flight, but his official record will stand. The FIS commented on the Japanese athlete's mega jumps and referred to its regulations, including the fact that there are normally two rounds and the athletes determine the best in comparable conditions. "A ski flying competition must be based on a FIS-certified distance measurement system and take place on a bakken that has been homologated by the FIS," said the Ski World Federation.
