Emergency services injured
Raging man (44) falls onto the tracks during a fight
A 44-year-old went completely berserk in a subway station in Vienna's Favoriten district on Wednesday. During a fight with a 39-year-old man, the attacker fell onto the tracks. He escaped with minor injuries - but then attacked two paramedics from Vienna's professional rescue service. He was arrested.
At around 11.30 a.m., the Austrian suddenly attacked the 39-year-old German on the platform at Alaudagasse subway station. He hit the man with his fists and insulted him. The 39-year-old then pushed the attacker away from him, causing the 44-year-old to fall onto the tracks.
Passers-by, police officers and rescue workers insulted
He was slightly injured and was able to climb back onto the platform. The police arrived to investigate the incident. However, the 44-year-old was extremely aggressive towards the officers and also insulted and threatened passers-by and emergency services.
During the initial treatment by the emergency services of the Vienna Professional Rescue Service, he attacked two of the paramedics and injured them. The 44-year-old could therefore not be properly treated. He was provisionally arrested.
