NBA play-offs:
Boston Celtics stumble at home against Miami Heat
The Miami Heat have bounced back in the play-off series against the Boston Celtics. Three days after the opening defeat, Miami won 111-101 on Wednesday night and set a franchise record in the process. The Heat have never hit 23 threes in a play-off game before.
In the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder were no slouch. The number one seed defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 124:92 and now lead the series 2:0.
The best scorer in Boston was Celtics guard Jaylen Brown with 33 points, followed by Jayson Tatum with 28 points. Tyler Herro was the most successful for the Heat with 24 points, hitting six threes. "We just couldn't make them miss. We often had good defense, but they had a record night," said Brown after the surprising defeat.
The Celtics had the best record of any team in the main round. Miami had only made it to the postseason via the play-in and has since had to do without its star player Jimmy Butler, who suffered a knee injury.
NBA results from Wednesday - play-off, 1st round (best of seven):
Eastern Conference:
Boston Celtics - Miami Heat 101:111 - series score: 1:1
