The TI volleyball players want to crown the best season of all time on Tuesday. After the Supercup and ÖVV Cup, the Innsbruck women can also win the championship title for the first time. TI captain Martyna Walter and Co. have to win the third final match at home against Linz/Steg to do so.

With a 2:0 lead in the best-of-five series, the TI volleyball players have their first match point on Tuesday in the USI Hall (20:20). After eight season duels, there are no more secrets between Innsbruck and Linz/Steg. Now every encounter is a matter of nerves.

Manager relies on home advantage
"We've already played a final twice this year, and we've shown our strength both times," says TI captain Martyna Walter, convinced that her team won't suddenly get shaky hands with the title in sight.

Manager Michael Falkner is banking on the home advantage. Anyone who has a heart for volleyball simply has to come to the game on Tuesday: "A packed hall would be the best present."

TI-Manager Michael Falkner wirbt um Zuschauer

The TI manager is trying to mobilize the Tyrolean volleyball family: "We have sent an e-mail to all clubs. Anyone who comes in a club uniform gets in free."

Lucky charms in the stands
Falkner has even invited lucky charms. 38 years ago, the women's SPG IAC/ITV brought the only title to date to Tyrol, and today the former champion players around Daniela Benedicter will be keeping their fingers crossed in the stands.

After the Supercup and Cup, the title would be the crowning glory for the long-term manager: "Everyone thought we were crazy when we voluntarily relegated to the second division in 2018 to build a new team."

Coach relies on proven playing system
For TI coach Rogelio Hernandez, the team is now ready to win the title: "It's taken six years to get the team to this level." The Cuban will not change the tried-and-tested system of play around opener Christina Plattner on Tuesday: "I hope that the girls can deliver their performance."

Linz captain Sophie Maas promises a tough battle for the last chance: "We have to play with heart, be poisonous."
