Sparta 4

One of Austria's biggest and most spectacular MMA series kicks off on Saturday. The team around Magomed "Mago" Ozniev is calling for the fourth edition of Sparta CF. The organization was founded after Corona with the intention of offering Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) a new, improved stage. Sparta is first and foremost about top-class sport, but also about top-class shows and the presentation of the athletes.

The fans are thrilled! While the first event attracted an impressive 1300 visitors, last October a massive 8000 martial arts fans turned the Stadthalle into a cauldron! This is now also guaranteed in the Multiversum ...

Legends and much more
After all, Schwechat will not only see two "Spartans" in the cage for the first time when Vienna's Narges Mohseni challenges Italy's Emanuela Scioli. Two fighter legends with deep roots in the Austrian combat sports scene will also clash in the main event. Veteran Attila Ucar, a "passionate MMA fighter" born in Vienna with Turkish roots, challenges the experienced Vorarlberg fighter Ivo Cuk to an exchange of blows. While the former was a professional Thai boxer and the latter started out as a judoka, both ended up in the MMA Octagon many years ago. They delivered, won victories and titles and each made a name for themselves.

Ucar is now in the octagonal arena for a professional fight for the first time since 2018; coronavirus had slowed him down. Now comes the long-awaited comeback at Sparta 4! "We're fighting as an inspiration for young people," agree 42-year-old "Machine" and 44-year-old "Scorpion" Cuk. "It won't be a show fight, more like a bloody fight in the cage," guarantees Ucar.

Branchenboxen

Although industry boxing offers a great fight show, there are no "show fights" there either. No, full-time chefs, lawyers, DJs and co. have been fighting their way through the ring for years! On Saturday, the next edition will take place in the Liebenau ice rink. If you can't be there live, you can enjoy all the fights in full length in the PLUS stream on krone.at on Sunday thanks to Krone+.

As always, the newcomers will be trained under the professional guidance of experienced coaches in various martial arts clubs and prepared for their frequent fighting debuts. "The basic idea has always been to get people excited about boxing and to give local big names who are known in the community a chance to get a taste of the ring," explains co-organizer Rene Wollinger, who is an MMA fighter himself and has now provided a stage for well over 100 amateurs with his team.

Illustrious round in the spotlight

The move to the ice rink will certainly set new standards, with 4,000 visitors expected to fill the "Bunker" to bursting point this time! Under the motto "Harder - Better - Colder", guests can expect not only spectacular fights, culinary delights and catering for VIP guests, but also an exclusive and elaborate stage show that has rarely been seen at national level in boxing.

The main fight will be contested by none other than walk-in king and fitness enthusiast Josef Fürpaß aka Kitzecker Sepp, who may be familiar to some from the ATV format "Puffgeschichten". His opponent is Christoph Konrad, the vice boss of a "hostile" adult establishment. The two are already busily promoting their "fight of the century" on social media (see above).
