Girl (10) seriously injured in riding accident

The joint outing on Saturday afternoon ended in hospital for five members of an eight-strong riding group. A ten-year-old girl who was thrown from her horse was hit particularly hard. She had to be taken away by rescue helicopter.

At around 2.45 p.m. on Saturday, a riding group was out riding in the Ampflwang district when some of the Icelandic horses suddenly bolted for unknown reasons. Five of the eight riders were thrown from their horses. Three (39, 48, 10 years old) of the five women were slightly injured and taken to hospital by ambulance.

Horses recaptured
Another ten-year-old girl from the Zell am See district was seriously injured by the fall from the horse and had to be flown to hospital by rescue helicopter. The horses were not harmed and were quickly recaptured after their escape.
