Will Mourinho become coach at London club in the summer?
Jose Mourinho has probably found what he is looking for in London in his search for a new coaching position. According to reports in the English media, the Portuguese could replace David Moyes at West Ham in the summer.
Mourinho wants to work again, as he has made clear on several occasions recently. He does not favor a move to the "desert". Rather, he would like to return to a major European league. While his name has only been mentioned in passing by Bayern, Liverpool, Barca and the like, one club, West Ham United, is now said to have expressed concrete interest.
David Moyes will remain on the Londoners' touchline until the summer. The Scotsman's contract with the Hammers will then expire. An extension currently seems unlikely. After all, doubts about Moyes have been growing recently.
Plenty of England experience
Mourinho, on the other hand, was sacked as Roma coach in January. However, the 61-year-old was still able to win the Conference League with the Italians in 2022. A title that the English side recently secured and want to win again in the future. After losing the first leg of the quarter-final against Leverkusen (0:2), things are not looking rosy this year.
In any case, the Premier League would not be new territory for Mourinho. After all, the Portuguese coached Chelsea from 2004 to 2007 and again from 2013 to 2015. He was also Manchester United coach from 2016 to 2018 and Tottenham coach from 2019 to 2021.
