Borussia Dortmund – Atletico Madrid from 9pm LIVE

Borussia Dortmund are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League thanks to a furious 4:2 victory over Atletico Madrid (first leg: 1:2). The match-winner on Tuesday evening was Marcel Sabitzer, who scored the decisive goal and provided two assists. The German Bundesliga side progressed with an aggregate score of 5:4.

Paris Saint-Germain are also through to the final round after a 4:1 win in Barcelona. Barca had won the quarter-final first leg in France 3:2.PSG and Dortmund will now meet in the semi-finals .

Sabitzer had the first top chance of the game in Dortmund, but the ÖFB team player took too long to finish from a good position and was eventually blocked by César Azpilicueta (4th). On the counter-attack, Alvaro Morata found himself alone in Dortmund's penalty area, but lobbed the ball past both goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and the goal.

BVB began to dominate and the lead was the logical consequence. Mats Hummels played an impressive pass to Julian Brandt, who scored into the far corner (34'). Five minutes later, Ian Maatsen added to Dortmund's lead and Sabitzer contributed his first assist of the evening.

Triple change at Atletico has an effect
Atletico coach Diego Simeone responded at the break with a triple substitution, which had an effect. The Spaniards were much livelier after the break and were already celebrating in the 49th minute when Hummels turned Mario Hermpso's header into his own goal. "Joker" Angel Correa's 2:2 (64') had the visitors dreaming of their first Champions League semi-final since 2017, but then came the great performances of Sabitzer.

First, the Styrian crossed for Niclas Füllkrug, who headed home via the inside of the post to make it 3:2 for Black & Yellow (71'). Three minutes later, Sabitzer thumped the ball into the net with his left foot to make it 4:2 and give Dortmund their first semi-final appearance in the top flight since 2013.
