In the Super-G
Haaser wins his first state championship title
Raphael Haaser is jubilant! The 26-year-old took his very first state championship title on the Reiteralm. The Tyrolean beat Carinthia's Otmar Striedinger and Vorarlberg's Lukas Feurstein in his specialty discipline of super-G.
Until Thursday, Raphael Haaser's biggest success at the national championships was last year's super-G bronze. All the greater the joy that the Fischer skier, who also came third in the Super-G World Cup rankings last winter, has now clinched his very first title on the Reiteralm.
Top 3 within 0.13 seconds
However, as in the women's race, the race was razor-thin: in the end, Haaser was just 0.07 seconds ahead of the newly crowned downhill national champion Otmar Strieidinger. And Lukas Feurstein, who skied the fastest final section, only lost 13 hundredths to the police athlete from Achensee.
