At the Landestheater
Alfons Haider returns to the stage
Entertainer Alfons Haider takes on the leading role in the ski musical "Skiverliebt - Zwei Bretteln, die die Welt bedeuten" at the Salzburg State Theater in 2025.
More than ten years ago, entertainer Alfons Haider appeared on stage at the Salzburg State Theater, not literally but for a production entitled "Butterbrot". Next year, the 66-year-old is looking forward to a stage comeback in the city of Mozart. This time in the leading role of the musical "Skiverliebt - Zwei Bretteln, die die Welt bedeuten". This is being developed especially for the Alpine World Ski Championships 2025 taking place in Saalbach.
"As general director of Burgenland's music theaters, I unfortunately only rarely get to perform on stage myself, which has always been the basis of my artistic work. So I'm all the more delighted to be involved in a musical world premiere again," says Haider. He is particularly looking forward to working with director Andreas Gergen. The two have already worked together successfully on the musical "Mamma Mia" at the 2023 Mörbisch Lake Festival.
"Skiverliebt" is set to premiere at the Landestheater shortly before the World Championships and will also be performed twice in Saalbach during the World Championships. The venue for the 2025 World Ski Championships in the winter sports resort of Saalbach Hinterglemm is the backdrop and inspiration for the plot, in which the joy of skiing, natural beauty and the tourist business come together. Martin Lingnau and Frank Ramond write the lyrics and compose the music.
