After Covid infection
How a 40-year-old stopped sudden hair loss
Her story is moving Krone+ readers this week, as it is the ultimate horror story for many women: Sarah Schwaiger suddenly lost her hair after a Covid infection, and an autoimmune disease could also be to blame. But the 40-year-old Upper Austrian managed to get the problem under control and tells Krone+ how.
The good news first: Sarah Schwaiger (40) no longer needs a wig. Because she was able to stop a severe hair loss that began in the fall of 2022. "I didn't have a lion's mane, but I still had a lot of thick hair. But suddenly I started to lose it in clumps, and the parquet and tiled floor were full of it," the 40-year-old told Die Krone.
Dermatologists prescribed her cortisone, creams and medical hair shampoos, but nothing helped. "I became afraid of going bald and feared for my femininity," says Schwaiger.
