Cruciate ligament rupture? Great concern for Lustenau kicker
Bitter day for Luca Meisl! The Lustenau kicker had to be substituted injured in the 31st minute. As sporting director Alexander Schneider explained to Sky during the break, a cruciate ligament tear is suspected.
In the 22nd minute, Austrias Guenouche defended a Lustenau attack on his left and initiated a counter-attack. Fitz offered himself and received the ball. However, central defender Meisl was on the spot and brought down his opponent. Both players had to be treated. While Fitz was able to continue playing, Meisl was stretchered off a short time later. Fabian Gmeiner came on for him in the 31st minute.
"Not much hope"
Lustenau sporting director Alexander Schneider on Sky during the break: "If you listen to Luca and the doctors, we can't have much hope with the knee. That is of course very bitter for us." There is a suspicion of a cruciate ligament rupture.
The 24-year-old Meisl from Salzburg only moved from Belgian club Beerschot to Lustenau in the winter.
