Top virologist Florian Krammer returns to Austria and becomes head of the new Semmelweis Institute. He says: "We are better prepared for the next pandemic." How he intends to achieve this - also with the help of the population.

"Krone": Doctor Krammer, you will be the head of an institute that aims to bring science closer to us than ever before. School classes will collect bird droppings and bring them to you. Why?
Florian Krammer: Many people are skeptical about science when it comes to new vaccines, but also in general. We want to change that by showing how researchers work. Not only young people are welcome to watch and take part, but also pensioners and everyone else. Anyone can be a researcher with us.
