Heart tumor! Lightning operation for Formula 1 legend Briatore

A shock diagnosis for Formula 1 legend Flavio Briatore: the former Benetton and Renault team boss and long-time confidant of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has been diagnosed with a tumor on his heart! Luckily for the 73-year-old Italian, the tumor turned out to be benign and could be removed during a quick operation ... 

"Ten days ago, I went to Milan's San Raffaele Hospital for a routine check-up. A benign tumor was discovered in my heart," said Briatore in a video published on Instagram.

Tumor "minimally invasively removed using endoscopic technique"
The procedure took place shortly after the diagnosis and the tumor was "minimally invasively removed using an endoscopic technique". He spent the following ten days in San Raffaele and is now doing well again.

He now has to thank the doctors at the hospital, says Briatore, "they were brilliant". He also thanked his ex-wife Elisabetta Gregoraci and their son, as they had rushed to the hospital from Monaco to see him.
