Aslan ahead of UFC debut: “I’m ready despite the pressure!”
The Viennese Ibo Aslan is only the second Austrian ever to make it into the UFC. His debut in the MMA Olympics will take place on Saturday night in Atlantic City. We asked the light heavyweight why he has a real "love-hate relationship" with his opponent and why he feels double the pressure despite all the anticipation.
Everything has changed since last summer. With a first-round knockout victory at Dana White's Contender Series in Las Vegas, Ibo Aslan made the long-awaited leap into the cage Olympics. He will be only the second Austrian ever to compete in the billion-dollar Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This once again boosted his sporting reputation, his social media hits and his sponsorship figures. Unsurprisingly, better-paid contracts also beckon.
